Event iCal

The iCal plugin helps users display their events on Google or other calendars through an ICS file.

Installing The Plugin

The installation process is the same for all the add-ons offered by WP Event Manager. They can be installed both automatically and manually.

  1. Automatic Installation: You can install the plugin from the backend of your WordPress. Click here to see how you can install the plugin automatically.
  2. Manual Installation: You can also install the plugin manually using SFTP or FTP tools. Click here to see how you can install the plugin manually.

How to get the Event iCal File?

After installing and activating the plugin, follow the steps below to get the event iCal file:

  1. Go to the Event dashboard on the frontend.

  1. You will see the “Download Events iCal” link on the frontend event dashboard.
  2. After clicking on the link, an ICS file is downloaded to your computer.

Users can now upload this file to any calendar, including Google Calendar.

Note: Users can also download the iCal file directly from the event details page, where the option "Download Events iCal" appears on the right side of the page in the “Register for events” section.



New feature addition

Sync your event calendar with Google Calendar and more. Once you activate the iCal plugin, you will find a dropdown option on the event details page where you will get the following options: 
  1. Google Calendar 
    1. Once you click on the Google Calendar option present on your event details page, you will be redirected to the Google Calendar page. 
    2. If you are already logged in, all your event details will be automatically filled in. If not, you need to log in to your Google account and then try to add it. 
    3. Click on Save after filling in the details. 
  1. iCalendar 
    1. Just like the other options, choose iCalendar and fill in your event data. 
    2. Once done, click on Save. 
    3. Your event will be added to iCalendar. 
  1. Outlook 365
    1. Similarly, if you choose the Outlook 365 option from the dropdown on your event details page, you will first be asked to sign in to Outlook 365. 
    2. After completing the process, your event details will be filled in automatically. 
    3. Click on Save to complete the process. 

  1. Outlook Live 
    1. After selecting the Outlook Live option from the dropdown, you will be redirected to the Outlook Live page where the details of your event will be automatically added if you are logged in. 
    2. If you are not logged in, you need to log in to Outlook Live and then try to add the event to Outlook Live.
You need to select the option in which you prefer to sync your event calendar.
